They sprang apart
Entrails Seemed to have turned into ice.
Remain where you are
They stood gazing into one another’s eyes.
To run for life before it was too late
No such thought occurred to them.
There was a snap
And a crash of breaking glass.
The picture had fallen to the floor
Uncovering a telescreen on the wall.
Now they can see us
We may as well say good-bye.
Here comes a candle to light you to bed
Here comes a chopper to chop off your head.
By acts of rebellion they had been captured
Separated from one another, now he is stranded.
Isolated, starved and tortured
Stranded in the place where is no darkness.
Craving for food, their orders he heeds
Lost is the notion of time, mercy he pleads.
Totalitarian aspects of a dystopic future life
Authoritarian ways to kill the speech.
Constant warfare, human equality won’t be done
Seizure of power, oppression they wield.
To control every aspect of life
Total power over people’s minds.
Bare to the eyes of INGSOC
Big Brother is watching you.
Blinded by shadows
Chained to the allegory of the cave.
Freedom they won’t follow
Frightened to escape.
Other perspective they won’t believe
Far beyond the shadows they can’t see.
Down with Big Brother!
In front a wall of blackness
He is scared to see the other side.
Something too dreadful to be faced
It is held, hidden from light.
When the slanting rays of the sun gilded the ground
He could feel the sunshine on his face
In the ragged hedge of the field the elm trees were swaying in the breeze
A landscape he recurred often in his dreams.
Suddenly with a shock of horror he woke up
He was breaking the agreement he had made with them
He had heard himself cry aloud
Thoughts of deceiving he had confessed.
Do you remember the panic in your dreams?
The wall of blackness and the roaring sound in your ears.
You knew what it was
There were rats on the other side of the wall.
Outbursts of squeals coming from a wire cage
Strapped to a chair, rats will eat your face
He was falling backwards
Into enormous depths
Away from rats
Away from pain.
Heresy erased
Devotion for a perfect brain
Empty and hollow inside
The realm of no form, no fact.
Tears were falling down
The struggle had finished
Tears of joy
The victory over himself
He had finally won.
